My Story - Volume 1

I believe that we all have a story. Some of us prefer to keep our stories private for fear that maybe we'll be judged too harshly, or because we want to protect the sweetness of the experience. Personally, if I had to keep all of my stories bottled up inside, I'm sure I would absolutely explode!

My Story - Volume 1 is really a chronicle about my life. I wrote "It Seems Like" when I was just beginning my transformation, and it really did seem like my love was tumbling down, literally. "Once Upon A Time, I Can’t Stop Lovin’ You, and How Could This Be" are songs that I wrote while reminiscing about a love affair that was like a fairytale, except it didn't have a happy ending and I struggled to understand why this man was not for me. Of course in hind sight, I can see clearly that this love affair's sole purpose was to teach me about my own passion, which I can now happily express through my music. I can finally say I am happy that it didn't work out. Thank you very much, Mr. All Wrong For Me!
Stay tuned for more about “My Story – Vol. 1”…………..

"The European Tour..."

For the past 8 years I've been dreaming of touring in Europe, particularly the United Kingdom. My fans in the U.K. have been nothing short of supportive and I would love to perform for them up close and personal. And even though I'm not signed to a major label, I believe that a European tour is the breath of fresh air that I need.

However, in order for this to occur, I need my "peeps" in the U.K. to email me and let me know if and when they'd like to see me. Should I come in the Spring or Summer of 2006? Either way, it's for sure that I'm coming. After all, it's my dream and my dreams ALWAYS come true because I know who's in charge of dreams. I'm calling on all the DJ's, radio personalities, promoters, and venues to support me in this endeavor. The tour would consist of my three ridiculously awesome background singers ( the very best on the planet!) a four or five piece band and of course, yours truly. I can just hear the music playing, the background singers chirping and the band tearing up. We are jamming on the title tune of my new project entitled "Learning to Love Myself" and the crowd is singing along. The men are singing their parts and the ladies are singing theirs, and the energy is powerful enough to move mountains! Can you feel me on this? It's so real to me that I can almost touch it.

So, now that I've shared one of my musical fantasies with you, how about if you share one of your musical fantasies with me? Visit my website at www.AneOnline.com and let me know when you'd like to meet me up close and personal on my European Tour. While you're on my website, please sign up for my fan club, as I will be doing something very special for my wonderful fans in the very near future.

Thanks to all my fans for your unending supports. Until next month, stay positive and love yourself, and know that I love you, too!

Love U Much,

Ané

Listen To Some Snippets from the New CD

Hi, its Ané and I want to share a few snippets from my new soon to be released CD titled "Learning to Love Myself". I hope that you will enjoy this little taste, thirsting for more.

I have also included a snippet from the interview with host Carletta Burch of xradio.biz/lasvegas with my Producer Greg Radford. A little behind the scenes scoop.

Producer Greg Radford is an accomplished bassist, and awesome producer who sets the groove in motion, that is most definitely phat, funky and sassy! Hear how I chased this man down to produce my New CD...

"Learning How To Love Myself"

Some of you may remember me from my first CD entitled "Once Upon A Time" by Shirley Marshall in 1997. Well, I've moved from New Jersey to Las Vegas, changed my name to Ane', repackaged my CD and given it a new title; "My Story - Volume 1" by Ane'. I've gone through a divorce, lost my Daddy unexpectedly (I miss him so much!) I've sent my son off to college and joined the "Empty Nesters Club". How's that for changing one's life?

Fortunately for me, people like Andreas Hellingh have always kept in touch, and because of his unending love of my music he has seen fit to include me on his "Soul Exposed" compilation CD which is an incredible mix of soul/neo-soul artists which I am so proud to be a part of. Thank you Andreas for your perserverance and dedication. LOL!

While in the midst of these changes, I've also recorded a new 16 song CD titled "Learning To Love Myself - Volume 2" most of which I co-wrote, and fully expect to release in the very near future. The title of my new CD says it all. Going through my many changes has really given me a different perspective about loving myself. I've discovered that loving me is one of the most important things I can do for myself and others. When I speak of lovings myslef i don't mean egotistical type of love, I'm speaking about spiritual aspect of loving myself and thereby creating an authentic means for others to love me, too.

My new CD project reflects some of my experiences. Here's some of the inspiration for the songs on my project. "You Inspire Me" was written as a result of staying with one of my wonderful background singers, Charmaine Cousins (Phillip Bailey, Cevin Fisher, Earth Wind & Fire), she's singing on my new CD, and her wonderful husband Walter. This incredible couple supports and loves me and my talent without wavering. So much that I felt incredibly strong and uplifted during my stay in their home for two months. This song is my acknowledgement for their kindness. The interlude "Surrender" was "given to me" at 5:30 a.m. when I was preparing to take a flight for a gig with the Shirelles, a gig I've had for the past 15 years. My mother has always said " When you don't know what to do, don't do anything" which in my mind means surrender. Hence, the song "Surrender". Listeners can expect a journey through my soul as they hear "You", and "Soul Mate" where I'm using my summoning powers to call into my life the romantic love I look forward to experiencing. "If I'd Only Known" is a song written about the unexpected death of a loved one. In my case, it's about a dear friend Claudia Shaughnessy who was killed instantly in a car accident, and my dad who died suddenly. I hope when it's time to perform this one live, I can get through it without a major breakdown. :(

And this is just a small sampling of what you can look forward to on my new project. FYI, I am also working on a blues project which will be dedicated to my ancestors. I'm writing most of the songs using the sayings that were used in my family such as, "Who Played That Piece, When You Don't Know What To Do, It's Not That Type of Party", etc.

Also, I'm co-hosting an internet radio show on Thursday's from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. PCT with Carletta Burch. Listen in at XRadio.biz (www.xradio.biz/lasvegas), where the emphasis is on independent artists. You can also call in at 877-972-3466. If you know any independent artist that would be interested in this type of exposure, please feel free to have them email me. It's exciting to be on the radio where my music is able to reach a much wider audience, and I also get to help independent artists get there music out.

Until my next article, love yourself and be a blessing to someone else.
